“I always liked to experiment and to add something to ceramics, for example, light or grass. I want to work on things that people do not expect to see in ceramics,” said Pylnyk.
“Ceramics, which in common understanding means mainly pots and bowls gained completely new forms, sense, and color in works made by Pylnyk,” stressed Olesia DOMARADZKA, curator of the exhibit. “She created true contemporary art. It is extremely rare. In Lviv she is the only artist of such high standard, and there are only three artists like that in the whole Ukraine.” “She has a bright artistic future. Pylnyk is a top artist in Lviv ceramics,” said Stepan Andrusiv, professor at the Lviv Academy of Arts.
Pylnyk graduated from Uzhhorod College of Applied Arts, later – from Lviv Academy of Arts. The artist believes: “With ceramics you can create anything from furniture to clothing.”
The exhibit of works by Olha Pylnyk in Green Sofa gallery will be open until August 26.
