Sumy Frunze Machine Building Scientific Production Association (SPA) is to supply large quantities of valves to the state enterprise Ukrtransgaz, a subsidiary of Naftogaz, no later than in the second quarter of 2011. As the press service of the company reported, the fulfillment of the order, which was received by the Sumy enterprise after winning the tender, will be carried out within the framework of the planned modernization of Ukrainian transit pipelines. “The Frunze SPA won, beating many serious competitors, including leading Russian and European manufacturers,” the SPA’s press release stresses. Under the contract, whose value is not disclosed, the Sumy Frunze SPA pledged to produce over one thousand of valves and fittings, covering almost the full range of ball valves. Ukrtransgaz intends to provide this equipment to facilities of all main gas pipeline departments in the country. “Until recently, about 95 percent of the Frunze SPA’s production went abroad. Today the company is able to increase the portfolio of orders due to contracts signed with domestic companies,” the Sumy SPA director Viacheslav Romanov was quoted as saying by the company’s press service. In particular, he noted, the machine-builders from Sumy were ready to actively participate in the modernization of the Ukrainian gas transportation system supplying highly efficient compressors, valves and fittings.
