1894: The tradition of the Olympic Games is revived by Baron Pierre de Coubertin.

1925: A crowd of bank depositors, whose accounts where ravaged by interbellum hyperinflation, seizes the Reichstag in Berlin.

1931: The Soviet Union and Afghanistan sign a neutrality treaty.

1934: All of Ukraine’s central party and government institutions are transferred from Kharkiv to Kyiv – the new capital.

1941: US President F.D. Roosevelt declares Washington is prepared to aid the Soviet Union in its war against Nazi Germany.

1945: Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow.

1963: World Women’s Congress convenes in Moscow.

1994: President Boris Yeltsin of the Russian Federation signs a partnership and cooperation agreement with the European Union during an EU Council session.
