Feb. 23 1927: The Radnarkom of the Ukrainian SSR adopts a resolution providing assistance to itinerant gypsies during their transition to a settled worker’s way of life.
1967: The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR approves a decree conferring the title of “Hero of Socialist Labor” on Oleksandr Korniichuk and Pavlo Tychyna.
Feb. 24 1919: Ukraine and Poland sign a truce.
1990: The Ukrainian Public Cultural Society, its membership comprised of members of Poland’s Ukrainian community, holds a convention in Warsaw and resolves to reorganize itself as the Union of Ukrainians in Poland.
Feb. 25 1918: The Smalll Rada of the Ukrainian National Republic (UNR) passes bills instituting the new Gregorian calendar and Central European Time in Ukraine. The trident is adopted as the UNR’s national emblem.
