The leadership of NATO is not preparing to cancel the joint NATO-Ukraine military maneuvers planned for next week, despite the fact that an evaluation has not yet taken place on the consequences for the countries’ relations of the alleged sale by Kyiv of arms to Iraq. “It is too early to discuss this question,” stated the source from the EFE agency on the possible cancellation of joint exercises in Lviv. These maneuvers, in which 18 countries are to take part, are due to be held between October 7-18. “At present negotiations are underway with the Ukrainian authorities. NATO takes the possible sale of weapons to Iraq very seriously. However, for the moment it is still too early to say what the reaction of NATO might be, or the consequences of it,” said the unnamed source in the leadership of the North Atlantic Alliance.
