Warsaw law enforcement has called on illegal Ukrainian workers not to fear racketeers and seek police protection. This statement dominated the meeting of Warsaw police force with Ukrainian illegal workers organized by the Parish Council of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church and the Union of Ukrainians in Poland, reports Deutsche Welle. The police have pledged to reinforce patrols near passenger terminals at the time of arrivals and departures of Ukrainian buses. According to the police, the thugs harassing mostly illegal Ukrainian workers are not only Ukrainians but also nationals of Belarus, Russia, Poland, and Lithuania. In turn, the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland has stressed that of late the number of reports of mugging Ukrainian nationals has fallen.
