On December 12, the first memorial to slave laborers of the Third Reich was unveiled on the premises of a former munitions factory in Leipzig. Ostarbeiters from Ukraine, Slovenia, Poland, Russia, and the Czech Republic arrived for the unveiling. Possessions of inmates and their recollections are represented in the memorial which has been erected thanks to contributions and patronage of Leipzig residents, reports Deutsche Welle.
