The Kyiv Chamber Orchestra conducted by Roman Kofman gave a concert at the capital’s National Philharmonic Society on March 9 starring Ukrainian diva Viktoria Lukyanets, resident of Austria for the past seven years. The program included Gliere, Mozart, Straus, Bibik, Kyrylyna, Kos-Anatolsky, and Ukrainian folk songs. The audience was enraptured and simultaneously saddened, aware that it will be quite some time before the singer will appear again, as her schedule is packed for the next two years and Kyiv, alas, does not figure there. The Day will soon carry an exclusive interview with Viktoria Lukyanets.
