Too Early to Speak of Loans

Julian Berengaut, head of the IMF mission to Ukraine, believes it too early to discuss the terms of resumed EFF tranches. She made a statement to this effect after the meeting with the Ukrainian Premier. Mr. Yushchenko pointed out that tranches could be renewed after consultations between the Fund and the Ukrainian Cabinet, concerning Ukraine’s compliance with IMF requirements, and after studying the findings of the NBU audit. As he put it, the IMF is “at an early stage” of work on its findings.
