Mine closures under the Coal Sector Restructuring Program are again causing social trouble. And though this time its scale is not so large, it still is paralyzing normal life in the region, involving additional costs. Recently, a 300-meter section of Debaltsevo-Luhansk highway was flooded. The assumption that it happened due to natural causes was not confirmed. It turned out that the failure occurred owing to the overload of the mine water collector at Ukrayina Mine of the Luhanskvuhillia State Holding Company. The traffic at this section became impossible, and quickly a detour was organized via Perevalsk. The Ukrayina Mine, which is to blame for the accident, pledged to eliminate the consequences of the flooding, initiating work to laying new concrete runoffs. However, as of the morning April 13, they still could not force the mine water back to the collector, The Day’s Alla ANTYPOVA reports.
