“Due to the political and economical instability in Ukraine, administration of the 10th International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz has decided to postpone the contest, which was scheduled for April 23 – May 5,” the competition’s director-general Yurii Zilberman told The Day. “The organizing committee received 177 applications from pianists representing 25 countries. After the qualifying round involving selection of best video presentations, administration identified 24 musicians as eligible for our Middle Group and 39 for the Senior Group. Let us recall that famous Ukrainian composer Oleksandr Zlotnyk was to chair the jury. Information on postponement of the competition has been already brought to the attention of the World Federation of International Music Competitions and the European Union of Music Competitions, while the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine has given its assent to it. The new date will be announced later (maybe, it will be April 2015).”

We remind participants that the conditions of participation stay unchanged.

All candidates who have passed the qualifying round and had been allowed to participate in the 2014 competition are listed as contestants for 2015 (to confirm their participation, they should send their competition repertoire to [email protected] before December 1, 2014).
