The headline is the slogan of the 7th Kyiv Security Forum (KSF) to be held on April 10 to 11 in the capital of Ukraine. High on the forum’s agenda will be the latest events in and around Ukraine as well as their likely consequences for this country, Europe, and the rest of the world. Ukrainian and international experts will also forecast the likely scenarios and give recommendations for achieving stability and security in Europe and the neighboring regions in the future.
The KSF will focus on such points as new global security strategies, the Crimean crisis and the establishment of new global rules, the importance of international guarantees, military blocs and neutral countries’ security, the EU’s position in political struggle, etc. Among the forum’s speakers are Ukraine’s Acting Foreign Minister Andrii Deshchytsia, Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt, Polish ex-minister of defense Bogdan Klich, OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, Prague Mayor Tomas Hudecek, and many others.
It will be recalled that the KSF was founded by Arsenii Yatseniuk’s Open Ukraine Foundation in 2007 and is a platform for debates on the most pressing issues of security in Europe and the Black Sea region. The forum is aimed at intensifying security cooperation between the European Union and the Black Sea region, raising the security awareness level among the key countries, and increasing the role of independent and nongovernmental players in the solution of security problems in Europe.
