To encourage future parents to adopt children, it was decided in Vinnytsia oblast to launch a social project that envisages making special video clips about orphaned children, says Tetiana Dorosh, chief of the children’s service at the Vinnytsia Oblast Administration. “There are 755 orphans and children deprived of parental care in Vinnytsia oblast now, with a half of them looking forward to having mum and dad. Potential adopters are only allowed to see the child’s photograph and medical record. Instead, we suggest making video clips about toddlers to show the way they behave in various situations, to reveal their interests, tastes and likings, and to put it across to adults that these kids are looking forward to mums and dads. I am convinced that this method will help future adopters to know more about the child and be well prepared for adoption,” Dorosh says. It is planned to launch the new project before the end of this year. It will be possible to see the children in need of maternal and paternal care on a specially created website.
