It Is Ours and Yours

PLUS PLUS TV channel’s animated series won the Lesia Ukrainka Prize

The Lesia Ukrainka Prize of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, awarded annually for literary and artistic works for children and youth on its namesake writer’s birthday, went to PLUS PLUS TV channel for the animated series It Is Ours and Yours. According to the State Broadcasting Committee of Ukraine, the series won in the Cinematic Works for Children and Youth category.

It is a socially responsible and patriotically oriented project, the channel’s own production. Its eight episodes, lasting 20 to 30 seconds each, tell interesting facts about our country, including its geographical features as well as outstanding achievements and original inventions of our compatriots. In a simple and unobtrusive way, the animated series teaches children to be proud of their country. The first episode of It Is Ours and Yours was broadcast by PLUS PLUS TV on May 1, 2014. The cartoons were created by famous artist, the channel’s art director Eduard Katykhin and designer Oleksandr Osypenko.

In accordance with the competition jury’s decisions, remaining prizes were awarded: in the Literary Works for Children and Youth category to Viktor Teren (Taran)’s The Boy from Ch Planet and Fire Dogs; in the Artistic Design of Books for Children and Youth category to My Magic Flower, designed by Yana Kerner-Verner; and in the Theatrical Performances for Children and Youth category to Kotyhoroshko, staged by Mariika Pidhirianka Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Academic Puppet Theater.

Overall, 40 works competed for the 2014 Lesia Ukrainka Prize for Literary and Artistic Works for Children and Youth.
