Festival of pysankas opens in Lviv

The Gallery of Pysankas will be operating in Lviv in the open air, at Museum Square, near the Dominican Church and Monastery till April 19. It will be displaying over 50 author’s pysankas that are 0.5 meters high and a three-meter art pysanka. An art workshop will be operating near the exposition. It will offer to everyone willing to take part in the master classes on creating pysanka candles, spring birds, and other Easter symbols.

Every year the organizers of the Pysanka Festival involve new artists, both masters and amateurs. The Easter symbols created by craftswomen Ivanka Voitovych, Yevhenia Riabchun, Oksana Andrushchenko, and Natalia Chernykh-Trytsiatnyk, will be on display at the Pysanka Gallery this year, as well as pysankas created by the business school of the Ukrainian Catholic University, studying-rehabilitation center “Dzherelo,” the studio of painting art SOM, Institution of Children-Youth Clubs. The Easter miracle will be also put on display by the forced migrants from Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.

Within the framework of the festival the action “Good Cause” will take place, which means that 10 hryvnias from the cost paid by one person for a master class in the Easter art workshop will be donated for charity. This year the organizers will raise funds for equipping a cardiology ward at the OKHMATDYT hospital.
