Where there is no law, but every man does what is right in his own eyes, there is the least of real liberty

For college and school students

The Days of America will be held in Vinnytsia
23 April, 2015 - 12:10

The Days of America will start in Vinnytsia on April 27. The project will be launched by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the US to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt. The educational, cultural, and sporting activities, to last in the city through April 29, would offer something of interest for everyone, Cultural Affairs Officer of the US Embassy in Ukraine Shari Bistransky told local media representatives during a Skype conference.

“Our choice of Vinnytsia was no accident, as it is this city that presents itself as Ukraine’s European face, meaning that it respects traditions and customs of various ethnic groups,” Bistransky remarked. “The project is aimed at school and college students and those who want to find work in the US. We will hold lectures, seminars, and competitions for them. The Days of America’s cultural program will include also a concert, a master class, and an educational lecture for musicians, to be offered by American folk music band Tumbling Bones. Another interesting event will be an exhibition of American Indian artifacts, which will be hosted by a local museum. Documentaries will be just as educationally valuable. They will be shown at Rodyna cinema.”

The US Embassy’s consular section plans to establish a so-called Window on America at the central city library, allowing the section’s experts to answer questions asked by citizens of Vinnytsia. The event’s working title is “Everything You Wanted to Know about US Visas but Were Afraid to Ask.” Finally, the Days of America in Vinnytsia will end with a grand concert of Lviv State Philharmonic Society’s symphony orchestra.
