Ivan and Nadia Sivak, wheelchair dancers, have become world champions. The Latin dancing skills of this couple from Rivne were unsurpassed. The fact was recognized by the judges of the competition. “It is the fourth World Cup in our career (it happens every two years). And the gold medal we won at these competitions is the fifth one: four of them for the Latin dance and one in the Standard category,” says Nadia Sivak. “The competition was very exciting for us. There were many new couples among the participants.” At this year’s Wheelchair Dance Sport World Championship in Rome almost 150 participants from 25 countries competed in total. “We have set ourselves high standards and now we have to keep them,” asserts Ivan Sivak. “Many people assist us with the training. Among them are Vladyslava Kostak our personal trainer, Olena Chyzh, national coach of the wheelchair dancing team, the specialists of Invasport of Rivne and Ukrtsentr Invasport of Kyiv, and the members of Kyiv club for sports dance Berezil. The state supports us with the means to fulfill our goals.”
