How would great poets and writers of past centuries look if they were alive in our time? In a joint effort, web portal Platfor.ma and the world’s largest Ukrainian-branded clothing store Vsi.Svoi have clad prominent Ukrainian authors in pieces coming from currently-offered fall-winter collections and added to the resulting “posters” their lyrics describing these cold, but very poetic seasons.
Volodymyr Sosiura, Marko Vovchok, Mykola Khvyliovy, Lesia Ukrainka, Vasyl Stus, Andrii Malyshko, Olena Pchilka, Mykhailo Starytsky, Natalia Zabila, Olha Kobylianska, Mykola Vinhranovsky, and Olena Teliha have all been remade into modern stylish images.
Social networks’ users have especially praised posters of Starytsky (clad in a biker jacket, striped vest and jeans and carrying a leather bag with gray felt insertions) and Vinhranovsky [see below. – Ed.].
In general, social networks’ users have very favorably responded to the project: in the first three days of its “life,” the initiative was reposted by 10,604 users on Facebook and 129 on Twitter. “It is a very right thing to do,” “Choose literature to suit your style,” “I have not seen such a successful Ukrainian marketing campaign for a long time,” people posted.
