This year, the film festival will be held for the fifth time, hosted by the Austrian capital on March 21-27. Screenings of The Nest of the Turtledove are scheduled for March 25-26. The main objective of the festival is not only to promote films and support film talents, but also to establish, shape, and develop intercultural dialog, which aims to promote better mutual understanding and tolerance between people, both nationally and internationally, i-pro.kiev.ua reports. Taras Tkachenko’s film deals with the painful subject of international labor migration. The filming took over three years, delayed first by funding issues and then by political developments in Ukraine. The director had to wrap up the film shooting in Vyzhnytsia in 2015 without the lead actor Vitalii Linetsky, who had tragically died in the prime of his talent... Several scenes were thus filmed with the understudy. However, the team managed to preserve Linetsky’s part in the film intact. The drama is based on actual experiences of Ukrainian women in Italy. Star of the Young Theater Rymma Ziubina performed the lead role. Her colleagues on the set were Ukrainian actors Mykola Boklan, Oleksandra Syzonenko, Maksym Kaniuka and Italian film performers Mauro Cipriani and Lina Bernardi.

Let us recall that feature film The Nest of the Turtledove won an award at the Odesa International Film Festival as the best Ukrainian film. Pictured: Taras Tkachenko and Rymma Ziubina.
