Greetings from the President

The Day has received yet another telegram greeting its consultant, prominent historian and political scientist James Mace, this time from President Leonid Kuchma:

Accept my sincere congratulations on your fiftieth birthday jubilee. Your many years of fruitful activities and research of twentieth century Ukrainian history constituted a significant contribution to the establishment of independent Ukraine. I am convinced that your experience and talent as a scholar and teacher will continue to work for the good of the Ukrainian people. I wish you good health, success in your efforts, and happiness.
