Last Thursday the exhibition traveled first to Kherson and then on to other cities in Ukraine. The exhibition, which features 110 of 750 submitted works, presents a more-or-less complete and diverse picture of Ukraine’s life in the past year; the real life of the country without any gloss, which means that it is merry, tragic, funny, and touching at the same time.
Incidentally, although the jury has already made its decision, visitors to the exhibition can also have their say. To do this, they simply have to vote for their favorite work, and the winner will receive a cash prize.
To the editors and readers of the all-Ukrainian newspaper The Day.
Allow me to offer my sincere greetings on the occasion of the eighth anniversary of the all-Ukrainian newspaper The Day, a popular daily publication about Ukraine and the world, history and our days, about our people’s spirituality and high morality, ordinary citizens and renowned scholarly, cultural, and public figures. From its inception eight years ago, The Day instantly won over readers, captivating them with its refined design, superior aesthetic content, perfect language, and variety of topics. Freedom of speech, ideas, and people’s free will has always been the cornerstone of your work. I am convinced that in the future these outstanding democratic virtues will remain paramount guidelines for every journalist, your thousands of contributors and subscribers, and every Ukrainian reader who starts his day with The Day. Today we can rightfully say that the popular all-Ukrainian mass medium, The Day, has also become a competent means of mass communication for our people, supporting and protecting their interests. I wish you good health, inspiration, and journalistic efforts, along with confidence in the steadfastness of the creative path that you chose eight years ago.
