Last Friday a one-man show by Carpathian photo artist, member of the Photo Artists Union of Ukraine, bearer of a honorary title International Photography Artist at the International Photography Association, and grant holder from Ukraine’s Ministry of Culture Ivan Postolovsky opened at the city museum in the small town of Tysmenytsia in the Carpathians. Postolovsky is among the leaders of the local Columbus Photo Club, one of the best in Ukraine, which is known far beyond Ukraine (two of its members, Yarema Protsiv and Pavlo Drobyak, were prize winners in The Day’s Faces. Destinies. Days. Centuries photo contest in 2000).
The exhibition is timed to coincide with the master’s double anniversary: fortieth birthday and twenty years of his creative work in photography. In these years Postolovsky received many awards, took part in photography exhibitions in Ukraine and photo salons in Italy, Spain, Belgium, France, Germany, Portugal, Great Britain, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, and Sri Lanka. He has also taken part in The Day’s photo contests. Now the time has come for the most crucial test, before his compatriots. Numerous admirers of the artist’s talent, colleagues, friends, and culture workers came to greet him, reports Rostyslav KONDRAT. The Day’s editors also add their greetings.
