The Golden Salamander Goes to a Zaporizhia Photographer

The Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Studies Museum has opened an exhibit of the Nature 2004 Sixth National Photo Contest, with the Grand Prix, the Golden Salamander, awarded to Yevhen Kom (Zaporizhia), the Silver Salamander to Viktor Sokolov (Sevastopol), and the Bronze Salamander to Larysa Buslenko (Rivne). The Zaporizhia Photo Club won a Salamander prize for Best Photo Club Collection. The Union of Photo Artists of Ukraine awarded diplomas to Mykhailo Bondar, Yury Lytvynenko (Odesa), Roman Mykhailiuk (Ivano-Frankivsk), as well as to artists from Donetsk, Odesa, and the Crimea for their group collections. An Ivano-Frankivsk Environment Department diploma was awarded to Oleksandr Suprun (Kharkiv), a Regional Studies Museum diploma to Hennady Udovychenko (Zaporizhia), and a Tysmenytsia District Culture Department diploma to Olena Martyniuk. Valentyna Opolska from Odesa, Oleksandr Hushchyn from Sevastopol, and Volodymyr Koniev from Chernivtsi received special prizes from the Tysmenytsia Fur Company and the fishing newspaper Kliuye! [It’s Biting!] . After the opening, prizewinners, contestants, and guests set off for a June 10-12 get-together of photographers in Poliany forestland of the Vorokhta State Forestry Company.
