The painter will present a series of 30 paintings. Ivan Marchuk called his exhibition “Dreams Overflow the Banks.”

“The canvases displayed at the Triptych Gallery are abstract expressionist works, in which the author’s original technique of pliontanism [from dialectal Ukrainian pliontaty – to knit, intertwine. – Ed.] found its fullest implementation, but in this case, not as a manner of painting, but as the essence of the form. The master seems to immerse deeper into the causal mystery of cosmic flows, where there is no shape, where the colors only start appearing, where the diffusion of light and darkness has not been completed yet,” said director of the Triptych Gallery, art critic Yevhenia SMIRNOVA. “Ivan Marchuk is a key charismatic figure not only for Ukrainian art in the last decades, but for the entire national culture. The life and professional activity of the artist, his civic stand and incompliance in the fight for freedom of creative self-expression have already become a legend and a model of civic courage and invincibility for many people.”
