Jamala’s song is soundtrack now

Later in November, there will be an official premiere of the film My Grandmother Fanny Kaplan

The composition “Promise” from Jamala’s album “Breath,” which she recorded past year, has become a soundtrack for this film. The film’s plot is a present-day journalist’s investigation. An old man, who has the diary of his grandmother Fanny Kaplan, is living out his days at Russian House in a Paris suburb of Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois.

The film tells about the life of Socialist Revolutionary Fanny Kaplan, her attempt on the life of Vladimir Lenin, and a love affair with his brother Dmitry Ulyanov. The movie stars Kateryna Molchanova, Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi, and Oleksii Devotchenko. The film was first shown at the Odesa International Festival, where Slaboshpytskyi won the best actor prize. My Grandmother Fanny Kaplan will be officially premiered on November 29 and begin to be showed in cinemas on December 8.
