At the 8th international opera festival “Zolota Korona” that has recently finished in Donetsk the soloist of the National Ukrainian Opera successfully sang in the opera Rigoletto. After her successful performance at the International Vocal Competiton in the Italian city of Alcamo last January the critics call this soloist “the best Verdi’s music singer.” Susanna won the prestigious second prize. By the way, Chakhoian is the pupil of the famed premiere Yevhenia Miroshnychenko so she will dedicate her first solo concert (after a break when the singer had a son) to her favorite teacher. The concert will take place on October 27 in the National Philharmonic Society of Ukraine.

“When I prepared the program I decided to sing the arias from the operas La Traviata, Lucia di Lammermoor, and Rigoletto that Miroshnychenko sang and the aria from Norma she dreamed about but never had a chance to sing,” Susanna Chakhoian told The Day. “Miroshnychenko was a strict teacher but I think that if her soul comes to the concert hall she will be happy and I will not disappoint the audience. I will also dedicate this concert to my one-and-a-half-year-old son who has brought joy and new colors into my life. Wonderful musicians of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine conducted by Volodymyr Sirenko will play at the concert, too.”
