NATO’s General Secretary Anders Fogh Rasmussen stated that the Alliance would respect Ukraine’s choice 100 percent. UNIAN reports that he told this at the traditional monthly press conference. Commenting on the possible cancellation of NATO membership as one of the priorities of Ukraine’s foreign policy, NATO’s general secretary noted that cooperation between the Alliance and Ukraine will anyway continue within the framework of the Ukraine-NATO Commission. “It’s up to Ukraine to decide what our relations will be like. We passed our decision in 2008, at the Bucharest summit, and our door remains open,” Rasmussen said. He also called positive the fact that this week Brussels is going to hold a session of the Ukraine-NATO committee on the level of foreign ministries. In his words, this is an indication of Ukrainian leadership’s will to continue cooperation.
