People call the defense of the Donetsk Airport from the Russian gangsters “the 242 days of hell.” January 16 was chosen by the defenders of the airport themselves as the date for celebration of the Ukrainian soldiers’ unbreakable spirit. Also on that day, Ukraine commemorates the last defenders of the Donetsk Airport, 59 “cyborgs” who died defending it in January 2015. The Ukrainian cyborgs repulsed an attack of the Russian gangsters then. It is considered one of the most successful actions of our soldiers during fighting for the strategic site.

According to official data, 200 soldiers died defending the Donetsk Airport. However, even two years on, there are some whose fate is unknown. Their relatives appeal for information to anyone who can help find it.
