1924: In Lviv member of the Ukrainian Military Organization Stepan Fedak makes an unsuccessful attempt on the life of Polish Marshal Jozef Pilsudski.
1945: The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR issues a decree on the second stage of demobilization of Red Army personnel.
1986: The Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR issues ukases conferring the title “Hero of the Soviet Union” on Viktor Kybenko and Volodymyr Pravyk (posthumously), and on Leonid Teliatnykov for courage and heroism shown by them in the course of rescue operations at the Chornobyl Nuclear Station.
1990: The founding congress of the Peasant Union of Ukraine is called to order in Kyiv.
1997: The President of Ukraine pays an official visit to Mexico, in the course of which a number of bilateral treaties are signed.
2004: Festivities take place in Kyiv, commemorating the date on which the capital status was conferred on the city.
