1574: In Lviv, Ivan Fedorov prints Ukraine’s first book, The Apostle.

1902: A 15,000-strong rally takes place in Kyiv under the slogan “Down with Autocracy!”

1919: The Ukrainian National Rada passes a bill on the use of Ukrainian in governmental institutions.

1919: The first illegal All-Ukrainian congress of socialist youth associations is held in Simferopol, adopting the statute, the action program, and forming the regional bureau.

1919: The Revolutionary Military Council of the Ukrainian Front orders the formation of the Kyiv Group of Forces.

1956: The Tereble-Ritska Hydropower Plant starts generating power in Zakarpattia.

1960: The CC of the CPSU and the Soviet [Council] of Ministers of the USSR adopt a resolution on the formation of grade schools with extended-day groups.

1996: The defense ministers of France and Ukraine sign an agreement on cooperation in terms of armaments and materiel.
