1920: The Soviet/Council of People’s Commissars (Sovnarkom) of the RSFSR adopts a decree instituting the “Ukrainian Labor Army.”

1920: The Red [Soviet] Ukrainian Cossack Cavalry Corps is established.

1922: Soviet Russia’s Sovnarkom adopts a decree on the minting of chervonets gold coins, marking the start of the 1922-24 monetary reform.

1939: The Popular Assembly of Western Ukraine adopts declarations transferring political power to the working masses, establishing Soviet power, and “reuniting” Western Ukraine with the Ukrainian SSR. Other decrees nationalize the banks, landowners and cloisters’ property.

1947: Some 78,000 residents of Western Ukraine are sent to Siberia and Kazakhstan in the course of Stalin’s largest-scale deportation campaign.

1994: Jordan and Israel sign a peace treaty in the Arava valley of Israel, north of  Eilat and near the Jordanian border.
