1649: Bohdan Khmelnytsky’s envoys, led by Colonel Fedir Veshniak of Chyhyryn, arrive in Moscow to propose joint combat operations against the Rzezcpospolita.
1869: The Kursk-Kharkiv-Azov railroad route becomes operational.
1906: The first issue of the Ukrainsky vestnik (The Ukrainian Messenger) comes off the presses in St. Petersburg as the organ of the Ukrainian parliamentarian community and the First State Duma. The newspaper closes with the dissolution of the Duma on Sept. 7, 1906.
1918: The CC of the UPSR, including Left Socialist Revolutionaries, adopts a declaration on the Central Committee’s interpretation of the current situation and the party’s tactic in conditions of crisis of the revolutionary movement in Ukraine.
1944: Representatives of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and the Wehrmacht hold negotiations in Lviv on struggle against the USSR.
