1918: The Small Rada adopts a draft Constitution of the UNR. A coup d'etat takes place in Ukraine, overthrowing the Central Rada and proclaiming Pavlo Skoropadsky Hetman of Ukraine.

1918: Ships of the Black Sea Fleet unfurl blue-yellow flags and swear allegiance to the Ukrainian National Republic.

1955: The Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR and the CC of the Communist Party of Ukraine adopt a decree on measures aimed at organizing Shevchenko memorial sites on the territory of Ukraine.

1990: The Ukrainian Helsinki Group holds a congress in Kyiv. It resolves to disband this organization and form the Ukrainian Republican Party on its basis.

1992: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passes the bill on the status of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea.

1992: The President of Ukraine signs an edict instituting the Foundation for the Development of Ethnic Minority Cultures in Ukraine.
