1914: In Lviv the Ukrainian political parties unite to form the Supreme Ukrainian Council.

1914: The Boyova uprava (Battle Administration) of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen is formed as an organizing and coordinating center of the Legion of Ukrainian Sich Riflemen.

1918: Hetman Pavlo Skoropadsky of Ukraine adopts a law establishing the Stock of the National Library of Ukraine.

1940: The Supreme Soviet of the USSR adopts laws reorganizing the Moldovan Autonomous Soviet Republic as the Moldavian SSR, including part of Ukrainian territory, and joining the Khotyn, Akerman and Izmail counties [provinces] to the Ukrainian SSR.

1990: The Supreme Soviet of the Ukrainian SSR imposes a moratorium on the construction of nuclear power plants and super-power radars.

1990: The Days of Cossack Glory begin in Dnipropetrovsk in commemoration of the 500th anniversary of the Ukrainian Cossacks.
