1651: Bohdan Khmelnytsky holds talks in Bila Tserkva with Myslavsky, envoy of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
1821: The Southern Decembrist Society is formed in Tulchyn (currently in Vinnytsia oblast).
1856: The Peace Treaty of Paris puts an end to the Crimean War (1853–56) which the Russian empire has lost. Under the treaty, the Ottoman Empire receives the town of Kars in Transcaucasia and the Moldovan Duchy in exchange for Sevastopol and other cities in the southwest Crimea.
1922: The studio theater Berezil (currently Taras Shevchenko Ukrainian Drama Theater in Kharkiv) is organized in Kyiv.
1943: The Ukrainian Canadian Committee hands a special memorandum to the Canadian government concerning the restoration of an independent Ukrainian state after the end of WWII. Similar letters are sent to the US and British governments.
