1918: The Small Rada in Zhytomyr passes the bill on citizenship in the Ukrainian National Republic and the interim statute of public works.

1919: The Council of People’s Commissars of the Ukrainian SSR publishes a decree on conscription to the Workers and Peasants’ Red Army.

1938: The Military Board of the Supreme Court of the USSR starts hearing the case of the so-called anti-Soviet Right-Wing Trotskyite Bloc.

1954: A plenary meeting of the CC CPSU adopts a resolution on further increase in the output of grain and cultivation of virgin soils.

1993: The President of Ukraine signs an edict establishing the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine.

1994: Ukraine and Japan sign a framework agreement — the first of its kind in the history of their relations — on cooperation in the course of liquidation of nuclear armaments in Ukraine, and on the setting up of a cooperation committee.

1995: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine vetoes the president’s edict “On the Financial-Industrial Group in Ukraine.”
