1657: Swedish envoys arrive in Chyhyryn to make an alliance with Bohdan Khmelnytsky on the condition that Cossack Ukraine is recognized by Sweden within the boundary lines of three voivodeships (provinces), namely those of Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Wroclaw. Khmelnytsky and the Cossack officers reject these conditions.

1923: The Hart Proletarian Writers’ Union of Ukraine is established in Kharkiv.

1924: The second congress of the Soviets of the USSR is convened in Moscow and adopts the first Soviet Constitution.

1935: An actor-training course is organized at the Ukrainfilm Film Studios.

1973: An oil pipeline connecting Talalaivka (Chernihiv oblast) and Velyki Bubny (Sumy oblast) goes into operation.

1980: The Pavlo Tychyna House Museum opens in Kyiv.

1993: The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine registers the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, the Jewish Association, and the Student Association of Ukraine.
