1920: Ukraine’s first children’s theater starts functioning in Kharkiv (currently Lviv’s First Ukrainian Children and Youth Theater).
1934: The First Congress of Ukrainian Writers convenes in Kharkiv and adopts the Charter of the Writers’ Union of Ukraine.
1943: Soviet partisan units under Sydir Kovpak’s command raid the Carpathian Mountains until getting united in early October.
1964: The Soviet [Council] of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR institutes state prizes for outstanding achievements in mathematics, technology, chemistry, and biology (named after Krylov, Paton, Pysarzhevsky, and Yuriev, accordingly).
1972: Mykolaiv Shipyard launches the latest Siberia series transport refrigerator and starts working on a new series dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Soviet Union.
1975: The Soviet [Council] of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR adopts a decree forming a government-run historical and architectural preserve in Lviv.
