1919: The Soviet of People’s Commissars (Radnarkom) of the Ukrainian SSR adopts a decree on the confiscation of former private banks’ capital.

1921: The Ukrainian SSR and Lithuania sign a peace treaty.

1943: In the course of the Voroshylovhrad offensive troops of the Southeast Front liberate the city (currently Luhansk).

1956: The historic 20th congress of the CPSU convenes in Moscow to condemn Stalin’s cult of personality.

1992: The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passes the bill “The Fundamentals of Ukrainian Legislation on Culture.”

1993: In Debrecen, Hungary, Poland, and Ukraine sign the Declaration of Cooperation of the Peoples of the Carpathian Regions.

1994: The presidents of Ukraine, the US, and Russia sign trilateral declarations and agreements on the liquidation of nuclear weapons in Ukraine.

1995: The CIS Interparliamentary Assembly resolves to form the Council of Heads of News Agencies of the CIS Countries.
