1882: The fist issue of the technical journal Inzhener comes out in Kyiv (it was published until 1918, when the editorial office moved to Moscow).

1918: The Central Rada of Ukraine passes the Land Law of Ukraine and forms the UNR’s new Council of People’s Ministers.

1918: The pro-Bolshevik troops and the units loyal to the Central Rada engage in the first clashes on the streets of Kyiv.

1920: The first issue of the first US-based Ukrainian daily Ukrainski shchodenni visti is published in New York.

1924: The 2nd Congress of USSR Soviets approves the first Constitution of the Soviet Union based on the Declaration and the Treaty on the Formation of the USSR.

1966: The USSR Council of Ministers establishes the Kyiv Commercial and Economic Institute (now Kyiv National Commercial and Economic University).

1966: The first stage of the Novostebnytsky Potash Mill is commissioned in Lviv Oblast.
