The path of poet Bohdan-Ihor Antonych was unveiled last Sunday in the Museum of People’s Architecture and Ethnography in Lviv, near Lemko church, which was built here and sanctified in 1992. It gathers everyone who considers himself to be a part of this ethnos and culture. The path is dedicated to the 105th anniversary of birth of Bohdan-Ihor Antonych. On the alley which surrounds the church wooden sculptures that remind of Antonych’s poetry have been created, and on small wooden plaques short versed rhymes have been carved, which goes very successfully in unison with the melody of the golden autumn. The voluminous wooden works were created by the students of the fifth year of the department of woodcraft of the Lviv-based National Academy of Art based on the poems of the Lemko poet and dedicated to the 105th anniversary of his birth. The leader of the project is senior teacher Darii Hrabar. The unveiling of  the alley was funded by the Lviv Oblast Organization of All-Ukrainian Association “Lemkivshchyna” (Lemko Land), foundation of Lemko regional studies, Lviv National Academy of Art, Museum of People’s Architecture and Folkways.

“We came up with this idea three years ago, and now we have managed to realize it,” says the deputy head of the oblast association “Lemkivshchyna,” an active parishioner of the Lemko Volodymyr and Olha Church, Myroslav Dmytrakh. “All wooden sculptures are diploma works of the graduates of the academy of art.”
