President Leonid Kuchma of Ukraine has dismissed eleven heads of district administrations in some regions of this country: Oleksandr Chaban, Bile Ozero district, Kherson oblast; Vasyl Vaskivsky, Hadiach district, Poltava oblast; Yury Bublyk, Okhtyrka district, Sumy oblast; Yury Branytsky, Kalunivka district, Vinnytsia oblast; Yevhen Kukhar, Stryi district, Lviv oblast; Myron Melnyk, Pusta Myta district, Lviv oblast; Mykola Doroshenko, Hola Prystan district, Kherson oblast; Yury Dziuban, Talalayiv district, Chernihiv oblast; Petro Kitsenko, Mensky district, Chernihiv oblast; Volodymyr Bykovych, Borzniansk district, Chernihiv oblast; and Hryhory Holdovsky, Sribniansk district, Chernihiv oblast. The edict cites no grounds for dismissal. The texts of these edicts can be found on the Verkhovna Rada’s official Web site, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

According to the Central Electoral Commission, Viktor Yushchenko won in ten out of the eleven above-mentioned districts (electoral constituencies).
