The masquerade has changed its location this year, and will take place in the Blue Hall of Kyiv’s central railway station. Over 1,000 honored Ukrainian and foreign guests are expected on February 12. In general, February is considered a month of fancy balls and carnivals throughout Europe. Obviously, the Venice Carnival is the most famous; it is attended by people from all over the world. Ukraine’s carnival season is opened by Carnivalia; it will be a world tour full of breathtaking adventures. But the pleasure will be concentrated in one night instead of 80 days. From 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. one will be able to visit different countries: our magic Candlemas (celebrated on February, 15), Vienna’s Rudolphina Redoute Ball, New Orleans’ Mardi Gras, and finally the eminent Venice Carnival.
Just as her husband Yurii Lohush, head of Craft Foods Ukraine, Tetiana also aims to support Ukrainian issues, which is why Carnivalia is a charitable event. The funds, raised at an auction, (last year Klichko’s boxing gloves were among the objects on sale), will be assigned for purchasing Ukrainian-language illustrated books. Previously the books were sent to boarding schools, large families and Kyiv’s libraries. As we know, the Lohush couple also organizes the “Coronation of the word” literary contest, which celebrated its tenth anniversary last year.
