JSC Zaporizhia Automobile Plant (ZAZ) has recently presented its new product, a C class car ZAZ Forza. Co-produced by ZAZ and the Chinese firm Chery Automobile, the car, as representatives of both companies repeatedly stressed at its presentation, is not only of stylish design (created by the Italian studio TorinoDesign), but also offers some advanced options for comfort, reliability and security. In addition, the manufacturer assures the car’s price is quite competitive, as Ukrainians will be able to buy a new ZAZ Forza for as little as 79,900 hryvnias. By year’s end, we will be able to call the ZAZ Forza a truly Ukrainian car, emphasizes Deputy Chairman of the company Yurii Plechun. “Under the rules determining the country of origin, a car is considered a national product if it is welded, painted and assembled in the country, and 51 percent of value added is accounted for by the nation in question,” the expert explains. “Thus, this car is 100 percent Ukrainian under any rules, because even its motor is produced in Ukraine, by the Melitopol engine plant.”

Moreover, according to ZAZ’s chairman Mykola Yevdokymenko’s statement at a press conference, the company will continue to responsibly manage the new car’s cost, producing parts and components in Ukraine, and in the company’s own facilities. Raw and semi-fabricated materials, from which the car’s parts are to be made, will also come from Ukraine, Yevdokymenko asserts.
