The head of the parliamentary ad hoc commission investigating the disappearance of journalist Heorhy Gongadze, Oleksandr Lavrynovych, who has been recently appointed state secretary of Ukraine’s Justice Ministry, does not rule out the possibility of conducting the fourth expert examination of the Tarashcha body, provided the journalist’s next of kin file a request with law enforcement bodies. Mr. Lavrynovych told Interfax in an August 27 interview that he made no mention of assisting the relatives of Gongadze at the commission’s sittings for a long time “to avoid any doubts and complaints.” He also stated that as far as he could tell the Tarashcha body is still kept in a Kyiv morgue.
