The race of Dmytro Dzhmil has started on the Theatre Square. The route is laid out so that the charity runner will visit 10 regional orphanages and boarding schools. The run will be captured on video, and a short movie will be made upon its completion about those institutions and the children who need help.
Meanwhile the volunteers are collecting gifts for the children in the institutions Dmytro is going to visit. These include clothes, books, stationery, toys, personal hygiene products, diapers, bottles and blends for the smallest. According to volunteer Natalia, orphanages always have plenty of needs. “Generally, any orphanage needs everything! Everything good people can give, including toys, stationery, clothing, and detergents. The past year, ‘I believe in U’ fund had raised money for mattresses to be purchased in one of the orphanages. However, as simple as it sounds, most children need attention, not only on St. Nicholas Day and New Year, but all year round. They love to spend time with volunteers: they play, talk, whisper their secrets, hold hands and cuddle, and no matter how old they are, five or fifteen,” says Natalia.
The gifts collected will be donated by Dmytro in the coming days, as he will begin visiting the institutions; but the charity campaign continues, and anyone can contribute something, following the relevant information at the “I believe in U” fund’s page in social media.
