On February 25, after a telethon, a historical meeting of four Ukrainian presidents took place on Bankova Street. The event lasted for 1.5 hours. The former presidents presented their ideas to Viktor Yanukovych. Leonid Kuchma spoke about fighting corruption, Viktor Yushchenko proposed to finally approve the great Ukrainian coat of arms by bringing amendments to the Constitution. It is possible that meetings of this type will be held on a regular basis. “I have an impression that this was not a one-time meeting,” Ukraine’s First President Leonid Kravchuk told The Day, “There were interesting proposals. Yanukovych commented on many of them and expressed his own views. I think that the most important thing is that the presidents met and found words for conversation. And the atmosphere was very tolerant and friendly.”
