Today’s civilization is the civilization of the image. Everything started with the picture writing, and now it returns to the image. People who live in a hurry sometimes have difficulties understanding what the others are saying to them, but it is always easy to understand photography.
Den/The Day is a newspaper that truly uses photography as a form of communication and reminds the world’s best traditions of journalism in which photography is an integral part of the message. I remember the time when I was editor-in-chief of the weekly ITD.
Back then three outstanding photographers worked in my team and while planning the new edition of the newspaper we used to analyze their work and discuss how to show a photo, in which context. Honestly speaking the discussion was one-sided, because they talked to each other and I myself, the editor-in-chief, was listening to them and learning a lot.
That is why I am so happy to open and read each edition of Den/The Day. I start with the photographs and then I continue with reading. Congratulations for the brilliant idea of the exhibition! Good luck for the future.
