The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will support any legally appointed Ukrainian government which will pursue an economic policy to the benefit of this country, announced by IMF Senior Resident Representative in Ukraine, Henri Ghesquire, on March 23 at a press conference in Kyiv, when he was asked if the fund would continue cooperation with Ukraine in case parliament voted the current cabinet out of office. Mr. Ghesquiere also called upon the present government of Ukraine to concentrate its efforts primarily on carrying out economic reforms conducive to better living standards of the population, Interfax-Ukraine reports. Yet, the IMF representative failed to clearly answer the question to what extent the delay with granting Ukraine the next loan installments is connected with political developments in this country.
