The event will be held in Zaporizhia Oblast Philharmonic Society. According to the artistic director of the Zaporozhians ensemble Lilia Hryn, the group has prepared a large-scale art project. The music for The Intercession Fair was composed by Viacheslav Todyka, while the performance’s director is Andrii Romanov (Serhii Chornohor is its chief choirmaster, Oleh Kuhaievsky will conduct the orchestra, and Oleh Kravets is the choreographer). The folk musical is based on Ostap Vyshnia’s humoresques. The main idea of the performance is “The fair has everything on sale, bar wisdom.” The show’s protagonist called Ptakholov sees this proverb proven true as he observes interesting life stories unfolding at the fair. The musical involves love stories, bits of Cossack humor, emotional and lyrical songs, and fiery dances... The Zaporozhians timed the premiere to the Day of Zaporizhia, Day of Defender of Ukraine, Ukrainian Cossacks Day, and the Holy Virgin’s Intercession Feast.
